GParted Live has a useful feature where it can be installed to a hard drive partition. This is handy for the rare case when you don't have a CD drive or a spare USB drive. Just install GParted Live to an unused partition and then boot from there.
And if you don't have an unused partition you can always turn off and format your swap partition and then install GParted Live there. GParted can be used to turn off swap on a running system.
